STUDIO
ENGINEERING, MIXING, MASTERING, DRUMMING LIVE RECORDING ENGINEERING John Campbell
and Mike "Fletch" Fletcher
have their own studio plus a mobile recording rig. We found them to be
very nice, patient, understanding, helpful, hard working, and proficient.
They are a treat to work with, and their rates are very good. LIVE FRONT-OF-HOUSE SOUND-ENGINEERING Rick Doupe ("Hydro")
is one of the best live sound engineers we've ever worked with. When we
ran into grief during set-up and rehearsal week, Rick was always unflustered
by it. He would just say, "No problem. Leave it with me and I'll
deal with it." He really wanted us to be free to focus on our playing
and worshipping, and he had a serious interest in making our project work
out right. People who were there for the live performance were in awe
of how good the sound was. We think he's exceptional. He has moved on
to other vocations, but every now and then, you can get him to do a gig
for you.. OTHER STUDIOS / ENGINEERS These are people we did not use for this project, but have either used them in the past, seriously considered them for this project (MMLAP, We Wait 1 & 2, Wilderness), or would definitely consider them again for future projects. Jay Elliott.
We first used Jay as the live sound guy at our wedding. We brought the
board tape home after the wedding and listened to it. We were blown away
by how good it sounded! Jay works at a studio called The
Rogue. He is also one of the best live sound engineers we have
ever worked with. Rob Hunter.
Rob and his wife Vicky are good friends of ours. They have a company called
Hunter Productions which specializes
in sound at live events (e.g. March for Jesus, Larry Norman), mobile recording
(e.g. Ruth Fazal), and setting up sound systems for churches. We find
Rob doesn't force his own agenda on you, but rather asks many questions
and listens to really understand your needs and desires (he tries hard
to capture your vision and how he can best support it). He also
asks all the important questions that you probably never thought to ask.
For some people, I could see a converation with Rob really tightening
up their sense of vision and purpose. Mike Noack.
Kirk first heard Mike play drums at a "Catch the Fire" conference
and subsequently hired him to play drums on the worship team at our wedding.
Mike has a full-service production company called Swordfish
Digital Audio. Swordfish offers producing, recording, editing,
mixing, mastering, artwork and reproduction and packaging. You can hear
Mike's production work on some of the more recent TACF and Rob Critchly
Cd's. We used Swordfish for reproducing our CD's and jackets. Scott Pipe.
We haven't used Scott for much (not, yet . . .), but we've got our eyes
on him! We keep bumping into his work everywhere, and it's really, really
good! He has a home studio outside of Hamilton. |

| Mark Cafazzo.
We needed a web designer/developer. While considering who to use, we "happened"
to meet Mark and his wife Jo Anne at a party. If you like the overall appearance
of this web site, Mark's the guy who conceived and created it. Email: m.cafazzo@pinkelephant.com Mark Meed. Mark used to lead worship
at Scarborough Vineyard Christian Fellowship. He's also a songwriter with
his own CD, entitled The Glory Details.
What we discovered only recently is that he's also a big-time computer
pro (his day job). He develops the inner workings of our site, and manages
the day to day operation of our web site (he's our webmaster). We really
appreciated Mark's hard work, quick response times, quality work, and
all around professionalism. Nathan Montgomery. Nathan's whole
family has been friends with Jill and Kirk for many years. Nathan is extremely
creative, has a good eye and was able to pass the "Kirk Test".
(Kirk is gifted and very perfectionistic in the graphic arts area, which
makes him very difficult to please. Soooo - if Nathan could make Kirk
Happy, we're pretty sure he'll make you happy too! [ecstatic, probably!])

| MUSICIANS, SINGERS, WORSHIP LEADERS |

Fergus Marsh (bass and chapman stick).
Fergus is a superstar, and we were blessed to play with him, because we
really don't deserve to! He has toured with Bruce Cockburn, Steve Bell
and Ruth Fazal. As great as he is, he is extremely humble, with a servant
's heart. As the person in our group most worthy of making demands, he
was instead the first to put down his instrument and help others. Musically,
we could be wrong, but we don't think there's anything he can't do with
a bass. Corey Lacey (acoustic and electric
guitars). We've known Corey for quite a while now. If you have the musical
communication skills to tell him what you want, he can probably give it
to you! Corey gave us all kinds of cool textures that are so important
in what we do. After the recording, all the e-guitar players in the congregation
ran home to brush the dust off their wah-wah pedals, because they were
so inspired by his playing. Corey always plays very supportively - making
sure that what he does supports what is going on. Mike Janzen (keyboards, violin, vocals,
worship leader). Mike is the mystery male vocal on the Make
My Life a Prayer CD. We forgot his name in the credits. Mike, we're
SOOO sorry! Not your average church musician, he's a real pro. It seems
like Mike can do anything on his instrument. You can push the strings
or accordion button on your keyboard, but unless you know how to play
like a violinist or accordion player (and the kinds of phrases they would
play), it will sound horribly cheesy. Mike has the touch to make it work!
Many of the melodic motifs you hear on our CD's are Mike's creation. Check
out his killer Jerry Lee Lewis style piano solo on Make
My Life a Prayer (see DOWNLOADS > MP3s). Seppo Salminen (drums, percussion).
You can hear Seppo's drumming on Jill's Make
My Life a Prayer CD on the songs "One Heart" and "Make
My Life a Prayer". Also check out Seppo's solo CD under "CDs
> Friends". (Also see Seppo under "Studio Engineering",
above) Barb Simmons (vocals on our project,
also plays keyboards and leads worship). Laura Chadwick (vocals). Laura is
an animal! She sings with fire! She can be very explosive or extremely
intimate. She was one of our wonderful prophetic singers featured on the
We Wait CD's. Gillian Lea (vocals on our project;
sings, plays guitar and leads worship on other occassions). Gill is a
good buddy with a fantastic singing voice and two CD's of her own. Fun
and cheery with a good sense of humour, she is a delight to work with.
We should warn you, though - she's English! Ruth Fazal (vocals, violin, worship
leading). Ruth and Jill are becoming good buds as the Lord has given them
a similar burden to start a 24 hour, 7 days a week House of Prayer in
the Toronto area. Ruth is an amaaaaaaazing violin player! (She's a professional
concert violinist.) She performs all over the planet, ministers with Mike
Bickle, Graham Cooke and Gary Weins, plays locally at Toronto Airport
Christian Fellowship, and leads worship at Little Trinity Anglican in
Toronto. She has an ever increasing number of CD's which are great for
meditating and "soaking" in the Lord's presence. Calvin Bryden (bass, guitars, keys,
vocals, drums, worship leader, sound technician). Calvin is a terriffic
bass player, and is way too proficient on far too many instruments for
someone who is already that proficient on one. He has a big, soft, mushy
servant heart, is humble, helpful, and generally one of the most useful
and user-friendly people we know. Gearheads and techno-weenies will want
to know: he plays an Ernie Ball. (Oooooooo!) |

COOL CHURCHES AND FELLOWSHIPS The Meeting House [Oakville, Hamilton].
Kirk is an evangelist, and this is the seeker- sensitive church that he's
dreamed of for years!. A growth rate of roughly 100 people per week tells
you they've go to be doing something right! Aimed at the gen-X crowd,
this church is just too cool for words!. Calling themselves "the
church for people who aren't into church", they utilize up to date
worship songs, great worship bands, a brilliant teaching pastor (Bruxy
Cavey), a funky location (presently in a movie theatre), and insanely
superlative, totally cool, thougt-provoking multi-media presentations
(the best we've seen anywhere!). If you want to take a spiritually curious
friend to church, but are afraid that friend might be offended by churches
that are too traditional or too charismatic, this is the place to take
them! In fact, everyone should go here at least once! Tehilla Modays. [Toronto, plus various
Canadian cities] Tehilla is a youth movement that is sweeping the nation.
If you're an evangelical or charismatic Christian with teenagers or college
aged 'kids', this is the place you want your kids on Monday nights! Count
on awesome worship, energetic teaching and powerful ministry times each
week. The Tehilla Toronto Band also has an incredible CD out (available
on our CD page, oddly enough!) Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship
(TACF). [Toronto] TACF is the home of "The Toronto Blessing",
a special visitation of the Holy Spirit which began in 1994 and continues
today. People continue to travel from all over the world to see what the
holy fuss is about. TACF has "renewal meetings" every night
except Monday, and hosts many wonderful conferences. Jill and Kirk have
been profoundly touched by the heart of God at this church. Jill's CD
is available in the TACF bookstore! Thornhill Vineyard Christian Fellowship
(TVCF). A church plant of TACF, above, this was Jill and Kirk's home church
for many years (right up until 2002, when they moved to Burlington to
start the Greater Ontario House of Prayer. During their final time at
TVCF, Jill was the Administrator and kid's pastor, and Kirk was the youth
pastor. Located in a storefront building on Yonge St., it has a family
outreach centre called Families Unlimited.
Incidentally - Jill's CD is available here too! Langford Ministries exists as a support
for pastors and ministry leaders. It has a prayer and worship centre,
and mentoring centre, a ministry birthing centre, and the Antioch Community
Center. It is run by Alan Wiseman, who Kirk and Jill have known as a Godly
man for many, many years. PRAYER COUNSELLING Elijah House is the prayer counseling organization founded by John and Paula Sandford. John and Paula are forerunners in the area of inner healing. Their organization administers prayer counseling to clients, and also offers training for those wishing to become prayer counselors. Their work is foundational is helping us understand the present power of God's touch to heal past events. The main thrust of their teaching is to let the Holy Spirit lead us to areas in our lives where we need to forgive people. The head office is in Idaho, USA, and the Canadian hq. is in British Columbia, CANADA. Theophostic Counseling, given by revelation to Dr. Ed Smith, is premised largely upon Jesus' ability to lead us directly to areas where lies are stored in our pysche, and to speak truth into those areas, thereby dispelling the lies and setting us free. HOUSES OF PRAYER By no means a new concept (see Bible - Tabernacle of Moses, Tabernacle of David), but there's a Holy Spirit-orchestrated movement afoot around the globe. The Greater Ontario House of Prayer (Gohop) Jill is the Direcotr here! Gohop is building towards establishing 24/7 worship and prayer for the Southern Ontario region, especially the Golden Horseshoe. Many weekly prayer sessions are already underway. We are looking for worshippers, musicians, sound techs, intercessors, administrators, sponsors and supporters. Our site is still under construction, but we can be reached at905.332.6400-1-1112 gohop@bellnet.ca www.gohop.ca International House of Prayer (IHOP, Kansas City, MO) This House of Prayer is the one started by Mike Bickle. It's the one that God used to give us the vision for a House of Prayer here in Burlington (see Gohop, above). They have 100's of people on staff and have been going 24/7 since 1999! These people are so overflowing with the love and security and identity that comes from Christ; they just radiate it! We really don't know anyone like them. They provide many wonderful conferences, schools, internships, books, CD's. Visit their site, but try to get down there and visit them! | LESSONS & TRAINING |

SONGWRITING James Linderman has a small "preproduction"
studio at his home in Newmarket, and has quite a large teaching practice
there as well (he teaches music theory, a-guitar, e-guitar and keyboards).
His grasp of theory and his ability to apply it absolutely astounds us.
James periodically runs a songwiters training program which is sponsored
by Life 100.3 radio. Jill was already fairly advanced in her songwriting
when she took this course, but she found it incredibly fascinating and
helpful anyway. There's cool stuff for everyone. If you're at all interested
in writing songs - GO!!! VOCAL LESSONS (to be posted soon) DRUM LESSONS Kirk Weber - see under MUSICIANS,
